We are situated in the Nelson Mandela Bay Metropolitan area and sail from the Port of Port Elizabeth in South Africa. We teach S.A. Sailing’s internationally accepted sailing courses. The only sailing qualification recognised by the South African Port Authorities. A SA Sailing ticket entitles the holder to an ICC Certificate (International Certificate of Competence). Our instructors, Tony and Sigi, are experienced and have over the years accrued thousands of hours of sailing between them.
We will be offering courses ranging from Competent crew through to Yacht Master Offshore, along with mile building voyages to those that may need miles for upgrading their skipper’s certificates.
OUR TEAM
Our team is made up of Tony & Sigi Bailes who have both been involved in sailing for the past 35 years. Both have sailed extensively in the world racing scene on both dinghies and keelboats as well as numerous offshore keelboat races. These including the Cape To Rio Yacht Race and numerous Vasco de Gama Races from Durban to Port Elizabeth along the notorious Wild Coast of South Africa.

Our sailing courses are structured to provide adequate training for novices, as well as the seasoned sailors who wish to improve their knowledge base. Bay Sailing Academy offer a number of courses with the practical components of training will be done on their own yachts.
